Automobiles in German Town Discovered Marked with Swastikas in Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Law Enforcement
Officers reported they were contacted by a man who found a car in Hanau covered with reddish fluid

Roughly fifty cars have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.

Automobiles, exterior walls and postboxes were vandalized, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they announced in a official communication.

Police report they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a resident discovered that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored fluid.

The fluid had been drawn in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they reported.

Officers then found many other marked automobiles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.

Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under laws outlawing the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.

Law enforcement say preliminary tests show the fluid was probably human bodily fluid.

"Currently there is no lead as to its origin; investigators are currently not informed of any harm in connection with the event," they stated.

City officials said they were attempting "to solve the incident" and have asked to the community for details.

A high-ranking political figure said the attack made him without words and needed to be solved promptly.

"This incident strikes at the core of Hanau and reopens the pain of the right-wing terrorist attack half a decade ago," he stated on social media, mentioning the murder of nine people by a assailant focusing on people of foreign heritage in five years prior.
